Description 1989-1993 Dodge 5.9L Cummins 7mm to 9mm Injector Nozzle Gasket Adapter Dipaco part number D3919358 is an injector nozzle tip adapter sleeve for 1989-1993 Dodge trucks with the 5.9L Cummins diesel engine. This adapter allows the use of 7mm injectors in 9mm cylinder heads.  These gaskets measure 1.5 mm thick and get compressed to seal out combustion gases from the injector opening in the cylinder head.  This adapter should be used alone and not with other nozzle gaskets.  Like a nozzle gasket, these are a one-time use, and it is recommended to replace the adapter each time the injector is removed to ensure a proper seal each time the injector is installed. This injector adapter sleeve converts the later style 7mm injector tip to fit into the early style 9mm cylinder head bore.  Works with 6BT3.9, 6BTA3.9, 4BT3.9 and 4BTA3.9 Cummins engines. Starting in 1990, cylinder heads for Cummins B Series engines were changed to use a 7mm tip instead of a 9mm tip. The change was made to increase the material in the head and reduce the chances of cylinder head cracking. Sold individually.
