Description 1998-Current Dodge Ram 5.9L & 6.7L 24 Valve Cummins Diesel Automotive Racing Products ARP 2000 Head Stud Kit Automotive Racing Products ARP part number 247-4202 is a series 2000 head stud kit for 1998.5 (24 Valve) and newer Dodge Ram trucks with a 5.9L or 6.7L Cummins diesel engine. ARP2000®: ARP2000 is an alloy steel that can be safely heat treated to a higher level, producing a greater strength material than 8740. While 8740 and ARP2000 share similar characteristics – ARP2000 is capable of achieving a clamp load at 220,000 psi. The ARP2000 is used widely in short track and drag racing as an upgrade from 8740 Chromoly in both steel and aluminum rods. Stress corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement are typically not a problem, providing care is taken to protect the parts from moisture and the parts are kept well-oiled. This is an entry level head stud kit that performs better than the factory head bolts. If aggressive modifications like larger injectors, bigger turbo or turbos, and engine programming are used, the CA625 part number 247-4204 is recommended.
